　　The Wolf and the Dog

　　There is a wolf. He is very hungry and has no strength to find food. As he lies under a large tree, a dog sees him. The dog sees the wolf is so thin and hungry, and he feels sorry for him and says, You are so terrible! Are you hungry?

　　Yes, says the wolf, m hungry because you are guarding the sheep. Now I am so weak that I cant find food. I think I will do.

　　Why not help me? Asks the dog, I work regularly and I eat regularly. You could do the same. You can help me guard the sleep. In that way, I will not worry about your stealing the sleep, and you will not worry about going hungry. Its good for us.

　　The wolf thinks it over and thinks the dog is right. So they walk to the dogs house. As they are walking, the wolf sees that only the hair of the dogs neck is very thin. He is curious about this. So he asks the dog about it.

　　Oh, dont worry about that, says the dog, Its the place where the collar ties on the neck. My master chains me up at night,

　　Chained up! shouts the wolf, Do you mean that you are chained up at night? If I come to live with you, will I be chained up at night, too?

　　Thats night, says the dog, But, youll get used to it.

　　But, if I am chained up, I wont be free. After saying this, the wolf turns round and runs away.

　　The dog shouts, Wait! Come back! Im not free, but Im healthy. I have good food, and a warm place to sleep. I like enjoying life. In fact, Im freer than you are.

　　狼和狗

　　有一只狼，他非常餓，而且餓得沒(méi)有力氣去找吃的了。當(dāng)他躺在一棵大樹(shù)下時(shí)，一只狗看見(jiàn)了他?？吹嚼怯逐I又瘦，狗挺可憐他的：你看上去真可怕。你很餓啊?

　　是的。狼說(shuō)，我餓是因?yàn)槟愫湍愕幕锇榭词刂蛉骸，F(xiàn)在我弱得沒(méi)法去找食物。我想我就快要死了。

　　為什么不幫我呢?狗說(shuō)，我們按時(shí)工作，準(zhǔn)時(shí)吃飯。你也行的。你可以幫我看羊群。那樣我就不用擔(dān)心你會(huì)來(lái)偷羊，你也不用擔(dān)心挨餓了。這對(duì)我們都有好處。

　　狼考慮了一下，覺(jué)得狗說(shuō)的對(duì)，他們就一起朝狗的屋子走去了。正走著，狼看見(jiàn)口脖子上的毛很少。他覺(jué)得好奇，就問(wèn)狗怎么回事。

　　啊，別擔(dān)心，狗說(shuō)，這是系狗項(xiàng)圈的地方，晚上主人會(huì)把我拴起來(lái)。

　　拴起來(lái)?狼叫起來(lái)，你是說(shuō)晚上你會(huì)拴起來(lái)?如果我去和你住，晚上也會(huì)被拴起來(lái)?

　　沒(méi)錯(cuò)，狗說(shuō)，但是你會(huì)習(xí)慣的。

　　但是，如果被拴起來(lái)，我就不自由了。說(shuō)完，狼轉(zhuǎn)身跑了。

　　狗大聲喊道：等等!回來(lái)!我是不自由，可是我很健康，我有好的食物，有個(gè)溫暖的地方睡覺(jué)。你太喜歡享受生活了。我其實(shí)比你還自由些。
