教育部表態(tài) 我國(guó)暫不普及12年義務(wù)教育

China's nine years of compulsory education will not be extended to 12 years, the Department of Basic Education of the Ministry of Education said in a statement.

教育部基礎(chǔ)教育司日前在一份聲明中表示，我國(guó)的九年義務(wù)教育將不會(huì)升級(jí)為十二年制。

"We are yet to have the conditions to include senior high school in compulsory education," the department said, adding that the main task in terms of senior high school education is for it to meet the needs of more junior high school graduates.

該部門稱：“將高中階段教育納入義務(wù)教育還不具備條件”，并表示，高中階段教育的主要任務(wù)是滿足更多初中畢業(yè)生的需要。

According to the statement, despite the goal for senior high school education to be implemented nationwide by 2024, which was included in a plan issued earlier this year, it does not mean senior high school education will be compulsory and free.

該聲明稱，盡管到2024年全國(guó)普及高中階段教育被納入了今年早些時(shí)候發(fā)布的一項(xiàng)計(jì)劃，這并不意味著高中階段教育會(huì)是義務(wù)教育和免費(fèi)教育。

"Promoting high school education is more about making sure students can attend senior high schools. Our compulsory education is still imbalanced and insufficient," the statement read.

聲明還指出：“推進(jìn)高中階段教育重在確保學(xué)生有高中可上。我們的義務(wù)教育仍然是發(fā)展不平衡的、有不足的”

The department also dismissed rumors that the senior high school entrance exam would be canceled.

另外，基礎(chǔ)教育司還對(duì)中考將取消的消息進(jìn)行了辟謠。

"We want to cut the number of exams to reduce the pressure on our students," the statement said.

聲明稱：“我們想要減少考試的數(shù)量，以減輕學(xué)生的壓力。”
