While some leaders in government, sports, industry, and other areas attribute their success to a well-developed sense of competition, a society can better prepare its young people for leadership by instilling in them a sense of cooperation.
1. 無(wú)可否認(rèn)，現(xiàn)代社會(huì)充滿了競(jìng)爭(zhēng)。競(jìng)爭(zhēng)是社會(huì)進(jìn)步的動(dòng)力：從政治角度，候選人之間的競(jìng)爭(zhēng)使政治更加公開化，民主化，有利于選民;從經(jīng)濟(jì)角度，商家，產(chǎn)家之間的競(jìng)爭(zhēng)促進(jìn)產(chǎn)品質(zhì)量的提高，消費(fèi)者受益，比如各種不同廠家手機(jī)的競(jìng)爭(zhēng)，使得手機(jī)的價(jià)格越來越低;從體育角度，individual之間的競(jìng)爭(zhēng)體現(xiàn)了人類超越自我的人性
2. 培養(yǎng)youth的競(jìng)爭(zhēng)意識(shí)能使他們具備適應(yīng)社會(huì)的生存能力，為追求自己的理想而奮斗。競(jìng)爭(zhēng)可以更好的發(fā)揮youth的潛力和能力，比如學(xué)校的獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金的分配，培養(yǎng)了學(xué)生的競(jìng)爭(zhēng)意識(shí)，使得他們更好的學(xué)習(xí)，去爭(zhēng)取獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金。在這個(gè)過程中他們也掌握了一定的知識(shí)。畢竟要成為leader，需要通過與其他candidate的競(jìng)爭(zhēng)。只有懂得取競(jìng)爭(zhēng)才能表現(xiàn)出自己的優(yōu)點(diǎn)從而成為領(lǐng)導(dǎo)
3. 然而合作意識(shí)teamwork也很重要，只有和他人合作才能共同進(jìn)步，懂得合作才能更加了解一個(gè)team成員的有點(diǎn)和不足，才能更好的成為一個(gè)有效的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)者。籃球比賽的時(shí)候，在不斷的合作中，這個(gè)隊(duì)伍是才能贏得比賽的。
4. 結(jié)論：應(yīng)該培養(yǎng)當(dāng)代年輕人同時(shí)具有競(jìng)爭(zhēng)和合作意識(shí)
Too much emphasis has been placed on the need for students to challenge the assertions of others. In fact, the ability to compromise and work with others -- that is, the ability to achieve social harmony -- should be a major goal in every school.
