China will challenge the UK's position as second inthe world for international study by 2024, accordingto a latest report led by Student.com,accommodation provider for international students.

國(guó)際學(xué)生住宿服務(wù)商留學(xué)生公寓網(wǎng)的最新報(bào)告稱，到2024年中國(guó)將挑戰(zhàn)英國(guó)全球第二大留學(xué)目的地的地位。

The report said a record breaking 397,635international students went to China in 2024 andChina has been the third most popular destinationfor overseas students, behind only the US and theUK.

報(bào)告稱，2024年有創(chuàng)紀(jì)錄的397635名國(guó)際學(xué)生赴中國(guó)學(xué)習(xí)，中國(guó)成為第三大最受海外學(xué)生歡迎的留學(xué)目的地，僅次于美國(guó)和英國(guó)。

With an average 10% year-on-year growth, the number of international students in China hasdoubled since 2005.

中國(guó)的國(guó)際學(xué)生數(shù)量自2005年以來翻了一倍，平均年同比增長(zhǎng)率達(dá)10%。

The report added that despite a recent slowdown, China is still seeing faster growth than theworld's two leading student destinations.

報(bào)告還指出，盡管近來中國(guó)的國(guó)際學(xué)生數(shù)量增長(zhǎng)有所放緩，但其增速仍高于全球兩大主要留學(xué)目的地美國(guó)和英國(guó)。

The report forecasts that at current growth rates China will overtake the UK to be the secondmost popular destination for international students, eventually competing with the US forfirst place.

The Independent newspaper from the UK also quoted experts confirming that the number ofinternational students studying in China has risen so rapidly, China will overtake the UK as thesecond most popular academic destination in the world.

英國(guó)《獨(dú)立報(bào)》援引的專家也確認(rèn)，中國(guó)的國(guó)際學(xué)生的人數(shù)上升得非?？?，中國(guó)也將取代英國(guó)，成為世界上第二大留學(xué)目的地。

The Independent noted that the trend is thought to be partly due to a drive by the Chinesegovernment, as well as increasingly higher education standards and scholarship programs fordegree-seeking students.
